Going Overkill with a Bad Point

Hey, Romeo10 here with a response to Flirt11's article, "Cruelty against Animals. No Fun!"

Okay, Just let me open by saying that I agree that cruelty to animals should be abolished and beating and whipping is totally wrong! But by bringing Webster's Dictionary's definition of "slavery" into the debate, you are just going too far! That's almost as overkill as saying, "Don't praise the king of all that is evil, Ronald McDonald(tm)." and trying to get everyone to become vegetarians! What's next on your agenda? Protesting to get them the right to vote?

By using that definition, you have basically said that having a pet is being cruel to animals! Are you going to tell me that you have never in your life owned a pet? Or eaten anything from a farm? Or had a burger? And I could go on and on!

Besides, in many cases, people take animals in as pets to help them, not to hurt them!
