Hey guys! This article is informational, based on my past schools. It may differ in other school districts.

Sadly, last year we had a robbery at a local store close to the local high school in my town last year. There was a lock down, and with my luck, I was there with some friends for a thing at my middle school. I'm going to go through the steps we had to do:

Step 1) Get inside.

Naturally, we would want to run away. But, run to the nearest building. A classroom would be the best, but the gym, bathroom, or office.

Step 2) Lay/sit down away from doors and windows.

At that high school, we have a gym with no windows, so we were safe in there. But, in a class room, migrate to corners of the classroom, or closet, or under your desk. Stay away froom windows or doors, since the intruder could see you.

Step 3) Stay quiet!

This is always a big one at my school. No one can be quiet, whether it's real or a drill. You can actually get expelled for talking during a drill.

Step 4) Wait for the "All Clear" call.

The "All Clear" is when you can get out of the position you are in. You can go back to learning, or doing whatever.

Step 5) Extra Notes

* When outside, listen to teacher's direction, like in P.E. If there are bleachers, lay under there.
* Make sure the doors are locked.
*If you are in the bathroom, stand on the toilet. It'll prevent the intruder to see you in there.

That's all for now!

Stay safe,
