Let me read to you
the poems I wrote across my skin
in hopes that you would take notice
with your shifty gaze.
Let me show to you
the oil spills you caused
on my pillow
and the wrecked state of my sanity.
Let me point out that
my room has never been cleaner
Because the task keeps you off my mind
and moving makes me realize
that I am only drowning in my head.
I hope you feel
the tears that leave my eyes
when I hear the song
that you said I remind you of
even thought I saw the mix tape
I gave you on the ground.
I need you to feel
the perpetual numbness
that comes with losing yourself
and all you've ever believed in.
Let me show you my
failing grades,
nervous parents,
neglected soul.
I need you to know
that it is your fault
that I am so broken.
