We watched the stars twinkle the night away
As we sprawled out upon his aunt's old picnic blanket
Holding hands and letting our bare feet touch softly
A quiet feeling that sent shivers down spines

Blood splattered against the road as I shouted in horror
His head was screaming in scarlet misery
I could feel my whole body throb
Pouring its aching agony upon the asphalt
But my heart cried the loudest of all

He picked me up at seven
The polite way a man does once he's done being a boy
With a sweet kiss we were hand in hand
"You know I hate riding this old thing" I teased
As he helped me on the back
Revved the engine
And we were driving off into the sunshine

I searched frantically along the road for my phone
For some way to contact help
My vision began deteriorating as great, dark circles clouded my eyes
Each time I moved my head, sharp sensations crippled me
I saw a light shine in my eyes
Forever and always

"I have a surprise for you" he yelled
Over the loud rumbling of the engine
And the racing wind that threw our hair back
As we watched the road twist and turn ahead
I wrapped my hands around his body
I felt so secure and safe

"I've got to get you back soon," he whispered
As we cuddled next to each other, still gazing above.
We folded up the blanket
Put our beautiful moment away in the small compartment
And with the start of the engine began heading back to reality
I clung to his words dearly
I knew he meant them

"I'm going to be late-" I shouted over the buzzing
"Well lucky for you this thing can go faster," he said
As the buzz got louder and our speed became power
And we became indestructible
"Look at how crazy my hair looks like this!" I cried while laughing
He turned around and the bike made a sudden jerking motion
The front tire hit the grass
And the flying sensation became reality

He leaned over and kissed me
"I love you,"
And he meant it
I did too
"Will you always love me?"
"Forever and always"
And he meant it
