What if I just sit here on the edge of no tomorrow?
If I let us sink, hoping waves will wash our sorrows?
Because we stare into each other's eyes but no longer see inside.

What happens if I throw down arms, ceasing fire from within?
If I release the white flag announcing that you win?
Because this war's not worth the battle and it's useless if we bide.

What will come if I leave my post; needing to walk away?
If I run out of cheeks to turn and can't bear the thought to stay?
Because I'll never really know if these feelings will subside.

What will be if I fall through, and cannot rise again?
If I notice that I can't find you every now and then?
Because it seems our end has always been implied.

We no longer see inside,
It's useless if we bide,
These feelings won't subside,
And our end has always been implied.
But I can't help but wonder:
What if we just sit here on the edge of no tomorrow?
