We found solace in each other's arms, drifting into peaceful silence
Staring at the midnight sky
Contemplating life's largest questions; Is there a god? Is there a heaven?
We stared into each other's eyes, shining bright with tears those nights
When nothing was going right
Sharing secrets buried deep, we were close to drowning in waters so dark
Once you're pulled under, you're gone
Using each other as life rafts, struggling to stay afloat in a world gone mad
Where nobody is sober
Drunk on hatred and love; consuming you piece by piece we cried into the night
Until the daylight broke our mourning
We found solace in each other's arms, drifting into peaceful silence
I thought you were alright, since I was by your side

Tragedy struck around 3 in the morning and I wept for what you took from me
The comfort of your embrace, your tears, your smile; everything
Gone, in a moment, now chaotic silence.
