Three words have the power of destroying a heart
Shattering it so completely, it's almost impossible to fix
You can understand then, why I'm so afraid to admit it
That I'm falling fast and hard for something that will only end me again
Yet something nags me deep inside, and I listen to it faintly
Give it a chance, I tell myself
Hoping
But the those three words begin creeping up on me again
And it scares me to death what might happen
So I pull myself back just a little bit, waiting
Noticing a strange emptiness I feel from avoiding them
One step closer, I let myself move
Inch by inch, I force my way through the wall surrounding me
Those three words begin to fade
No, change
Three words begin to change from something terrifying to something else entirely
Three words morphing so completely
They're unrecognizable in the end
Three words jump out at me, yelling my name
They bolden in front of my face
Three words, originally feelings; "I like you"
They stand in my way, I can't turn back now
"Take a chance"
