Recipe Review: Nutella Marbled Pound Cake

I found this recipe online from a lady named yoyomax12. I have made several other recipes of hers.

Nutella Marbled Pound Cake (not my recipe)

1 1/2 (204g) cups flour
4 large eggs
2 tsp (10ml) vanilla
3/4 tsp (2g) baking powder
1/4 tsp (1g) salt (if using salted butter don't add this)
1 cup (250g) butter softened
1 1/4 cups (250g) white granulated sugar
One 13 oz jar of Nutella (about 370g) (the person who posted this reccomends maybe a half jar instead of a full jar . . . see below)

Combine eggs and vanilla and beat together slightly and set aside.

Combine baking powder, salt and flour in a bowl set aside.

In a large bowl cream together the butter and sugar,add in the egg mixture and beat well. Add the flour mixture a little at a time until combine.

Spread 1/3 of the batter in the bottom of a large loaf pan (5"x9" / 14cm x 23cm loaf pan is recommended by her) that has been greased and lightly floured. Spoon half of the nutella onto the batter, gently spreading it to the edges of the pan. Place another 1/3 of the batter over the top of the nutella and spread evenly. Top with the second half of the nutella and then top with the remaining 1/3 of the batter. Take a butter knife and gently swirl the batter and nutella layers together, being careful not to overmix.

Bake at 325F (162C) for 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes or until the cake is done in the center. Allow to cool completely and slice.

And now for the review!

I would definitely give this cake a 10/10. It was very moist and went great with a glass of milk. My sister and I got chocolate chips and put them point-down into the cake right after it came out of the oven. Like the recipe said, I used less Nutella. I got two heaping table spoons and spread it out thinly since I don't like eating big globs of it (plus I didn't want to use a whole half-jar for one cake). However one thing did go wrong . . .(sorry for the blurry picture)

My cake collapsed! I don't really blame the recipe for this . . . I looked it up and I may have used old baking powder, or the wrong flour . . .I'm not quite sure. I actually think it was a bit over-baked (the top is very golden brown and it was crispy) since we used a smaller loaf pan. I think next time I would bake it for ten minutes less. I actually only baked mine 55 minutes and it was still a bit well-done . . . it was still VERY delicious otherwise! I'm glad I didn't use a lot of Nutella because the cake was very dense and rich. I ended up sharing one piece with my sister.

Nevertheless I would still make this again! Thanks for reading!
