Author's Note: Some of these pictures aren't my actual reborn, I wanted them here to show before and mid-way through the painting process. The final picture is the actual reborn I've painted.

When I'm stressed out, I don't take a breather or play with trains, I paint! What do I paint exactly? Well, I paint baby dolls!

When I visited my aunt last summer, she has bought me a few baby doll parts, arms and legs with a little sack body, and told me I could make a little money to buy something I had been wanting. Free doll that could make me money? Sure, I would take that offer any day. She handed me a head and some heat-sealing paint. Today, painting these babies has been a love of mine and I wanted to share this you.

Right here as you can see, this is what it starts out looking like. Very pale and not so put together.

I use the Genesis Heat-sealing paint because it numbers the steps for you.

I applied the skin color and veins first, making little blue Y's where our veins would naturally show. I thin took a regular makeup sponge and pressed a little blush onto her knees and elbows just to add some red-ness. After painting her limbs and head, she looked a little like this.

This is a doll my aunt painted to show my the steps of the painting process. I think she named this doll Sean. After we applied a clear gloss to seal the actual paint, we stuffed the bodies and added baby powder, just for that new baby smell! We dressed them up and had a baby fashion show!

This is the actual reborn I painted. Her name is Anastasia and she was a great gift to my grandmother. As weird as it sounds, I love painting babies. The feedback I have gotten has been a shocker, but around 90 percent have said that they thought it was real and that they love it. Others, of course, asked me if it was a real and wanted me to paint them one. It's a hobby that sells!
