Lately, I have been listening to a British rock band from the sixties called The Who. The very first song I heard by them was "Substitute", and that happened to be the first music video I saw by them as well. Here is a still-shot I took while watching the video.

When I was watching the video, I was instantly drawn to the lead singer, Roger Daltrey (the one in the striped shirt). I don't know what it was about him, but I instantly fell for his looks, charisma, strong voice (seriously, his voice in later songs is fantastic), "tough guy" personality, and especially his fashion/style. I really liked how he looked in the video, so I decided to draw him as he looked in the video.

These are the two pictures I used for reference photos (besides the still-shot from the video). I used them because they were clear close ups, and the album color was a good color reference for his skin and eyes.

And here is the drawing. As you can see, I drew the outfit he wore in the video.

I am pretty happy with the drawing, but some things I would do differently is the pose (I found it a little awkward) and the lines on his arm. Also, I think it needs more work on the shading. But I think I was able to capture his looks pretty well in cartoon-form. The medium I used here were my new Prismacolor pencils. This was only my second time fully using them!

Thanks for reading, and I will most likely do more drawings of him in the future!
