// I touched you all the kinds of lonely ways
but you never really wanted to respond //
// and I'd probably try to kiss and love you anyway
because you locked me up and then you went and paid my bond //
// and seven times I only wanted you to see me here --
do you remember all the pick-up sticks we found --
I guess back then you didn't really wanna need me near
because ya kinda rather usually knocked me to the ground oh //

pick-up sticks and conscious tomboys
no one ever knew our names
oil slicks all through our backcombs
playin hearts instead of games ugh

// jumping 'cross the borders of my brain
you dazzle me with crooked smiles //
// I'd pay for any single night 'round you
but I wouldn't drive a single mile oh //

pick-up sticks and conscious tomboys
hissin at the boys in charge
couldn't run my fingers through that hair
couldn't run though we're at large so
pick-up sticks and conscious tomboys
never gonna live me down
tell me secrets you made in that head
because you don't really want me 'round
you
