This is TIKE reporting on a particular issue that is close to heart. I suppose that the majority of the people on Whyville enjoy the site. It has lots of benefits and activities for teens and young people to enjoy. However, over a bit of time, I have watched Whyville progress into its own wrestling ring where certain Whyvillians go head-to-head.

The basis of most of these discussions is difference of opinions towards topics such as racism, cultural or religious differences, homosexuality, or differences in ages. However, what many people have to understand is that the World (as a whole) is changing quickly. You also must put into consideration that Whyville is a community or a town. This means that it is created with different people who are of different race, culture, age, sexual orientation, and religious background.

It is my opinion that these qualities make Whyville a much better place. I, for one, would not like to see a group of people who are exactly the same, dressed the same, thought the same things, or spoke the same way... even on Whyville. I like people who are different, and I respect them for their own opinions. If someone you meet tells you a private issue, or something that creates them... makes them who they are, don't embarrass them. If you have an opinion, keep it to yourself. Majority of the time, it takes courage and determination to confront someone with an issue.

Think of Whyville as real life. Treat everyone as if you were meeting them face to face. I assume that some of you have friends, relatives, or schoolmates who come from all different backgrounds. Take the opportunity to meet new people and learn about their culture, religion, or other aspects that make them who they are.

Always remember that there are real people behind the computer. Ones who have feelings, opinions, and beliefs. Stop all this bad junk which eventually just upsets and hurts people, and let's strive towards a better community.
