Parents in Whyville

Hello, I am responding to Gone142's article about adults in Whyville. I am an adult and proud of it! I bought a Why-Pass for my almost 14-year-old daughter and she ended up not caring for Whyville (I cannot imagine why!?) so I use it. Hey! It is a 6 month pass! Money does not grow on trees. (Wink) Plus, I monitor ALL websites my child uses. Her safety is very important to me.

I have had a lot of animosity directed towards me about my age. I have been called many names and sometimes it gets VERY frustrating. But I do my best to ignore it. My time on Whyville is spent mostly designing face parts, and helping new Whyvillians. I enjoy helping with games and giving out the ever so helpful hint of squishing up your face and NOT placing your eyes OVER your hair. I have donated MANY clams and face parts to newbies, and I enjoy doing this.

In my 3 months on Whyville I have met others who are also parents who enjoy their time on the site. Face it, this is a great site for kids AND adults. Some are hesitant to admit their age for fear of exile. No one, no matter what your age, likes to be treated as an outsider. Parents are people too.

I guess my point is PLEASE, if you see a parent on Whyville who admits to you that they are over 15, please do not treat us like we are invading your space or trying to take over. We are here to have fun just like you guys. Would you want someone to talk to YOUR mother that way? But do remember what City Hall has said... there ARE weirdoes out there. Be careful!

This is old lady iLLSA bidding you farewell!
