Over the past four or five years I have really gotten into the art of cosplaying. I enjoy attending conventions around my area and eventually plan to branch out to bigger country-wide conventions. I spend a lot of time making and putting together my costumes, as well as focusing on my makeup to really resemble the character I am trying to portray.

Unfortunately I cannot share many of my cosplays with Whyville, as we are not allowed to submit photos of ourselves, but for this particular costume, I painted my face and body to look like the character "Sally" from Tim Burton's "The Nightmare Before Christmas" and if I do say so myself, I am hardly recognizable as a human! I wore this to a convention I attended last month and definitely would like to use it again this Halloween!

To make this cosplay happen, I used a red yarn "ragdoll" wig from a costume store, as I felt yarn would look more like Sally's hair than a regular cosplay wig made of synthetic hair. I bought the dress from Hot Topic. The shoes and socks came from an eBay store based in China. I bought the face paint and false eyelashes from Party City and also used a lipstick from Sephora.
