I stood at the edge of the cliff looking down.
Everything around me was brown.
The grass was dying and the trees were sighing.
But as I looked down this cliff I saw a better future.
I saw lush lands and lots of great plains.
I saw an escape from any pain.
So with my feathers ruffled
I stepped forward.
I fell into the abyss that promised so much.
The wonderful land was upon me.
I had fallen straight into my dream.
For two seconds until I realized I was still falling.
The dream was a cloud.
There was nothing around when I landed.
There was no ground and no sky.
All I saw was a lie.
I spent my days here and one by one they passed.
I suddenly found hope in the world I once had
with the sad trees and brown grass.
