"Now for all you vegetarians out there, bad news: you're not helping anything!" --IloveAG

"Humans Are Animals, Too" --Article title, written by Sarah220

Well guys, read these two quotes and you may think that I am about to tell you that eating meat can be justified. You obviously don't know me very well. In fact, I think that the people who said this might not know all the facts.

There are some people who believe that the only reason to become vegetarian is to save a cow or two. Why not do it for yourself?

Now you might think I'm crazy. I mean, who would want to give up meat to make themselves happy? Lots of people! Can't think of any off the top of your head. Here's a few to get you started: Buddha, St. Lunatics (Nelly eats fish, but is vegetarian otherwise), Brandy, Moby, Bryan Adams, Scott Adams (cartoonist of Dilbert), Downtown Julie Brown (former MTV V.J.), Dan Castellaneta (voice of Homer Simpson), Chelsea Clinton, Rachael Leigh Cook, Michael J. Fox, Ruth Heidrich (3 times an Ironman), Carl Lewis (Olympic track Star), Tobey Maguire, Edwin Moses (Olympic Champion), Weird Al Yankovic (comedian/singer). You get the idea right? But if you'd like to know more of these, you can check out http://www.famousveggie.com/peoplenew.cfm?&VEG=1&ORD=L.

Why are all of these people vegetarian? Chances are they, like many other people, are realizing that vegetarian diets aren't only healthy, they are often HEALTHIER than diets that include meat. Studies show that most vegetarians are leaner, live longer, and are less likely to get certain types of cancer.

Why is a vegetarian actually healthy? You are no longer consuming amounts of cholesterol, fat or steroids that you honestly don't need! Makes a little sense when you think about it, doesn't it?

And when Sarah220 says that humans are omnivores, I can argue that point. Technically, our bodies were built to consume plants. The proof? Carnivores have sharp, pointy claws, as well at pointy and sharp teeth. Um... the last time I checked most of my teeth were fairly flat, and my nails weren't going to rip apart an animal. Shouldn't that say something?

A lot of people are saying that if you become vegetarian, you will save a cow. Well, be a little selfish! Become vegetarian and save yourself! It's getting easier all the time. I can now walk into Burger King AND McDonald's and order a veggie burger. They taste great!

Well, I've got to go. School's almost out and I'm throwing a party! It's time to hit the mall!

Just another chick going through a veggie kick phase that has lasted a year,
