The Deer Population

"The deer population today needs to be dealt with. Well, what about the human population? There are six billion people in the world!" --Quote.

Touche'.

Let's be serious about this, though. Humans aren't really bright, but we don't get the sudden notion to jump out in front of moving vehicles. Well, maybe some of us... but that's a whole different debate.

Hunting a deer and shooting it, believe it or not, is possibly more humane than allowing the population to climb to very high numbers.

Think about it. If the deer is shot, under most circumstances it'll die instantly. If it is hit by a car then it could lie inanimate for days, dying a slow, painful death.

Yeah, there are chances that a deer will not die instantly when hit. Here's the gruesome part (sorry readers, this is important and needs to be known) -- a deer is built so that if it has a large impact on it, its neck is usually the first thing to break. So, technically, if you hit a deer on the road, then you are being more cruel to a deer than a hunter.

Sorry for being so graphic; these points just need to be made known. Let's review:

  • Poaching -- Bad.
  • Hunting -- Beneficial.
  • Vegetarianism -- Choice.

There we are. Thanks again.
Shellbert.
