Should We Put Him Down?

Should we put him down? Should we pay to keep him alive? Should we just let him suffer? These are the many questions that go through people's minds when their pet is sick. Most owners seem to think that it's just best to put their animal down so that it will have no more suffering... but is that the best solution?

I've been reading all of the articles in the animal section of the Whyville Times lately and it got me thinking. If an animal is very sick a majority of the people just put their pets down so there will be no more suffering. But if your child is very sick and has a good chance of passing away would you put him/her down? I didn't think so. If your child was that sick, then you would pay all the money in the world to keep him/her alive right? Well, if you tell your animal that you love them so much, then you should pay all the money in the world to keep it alive.

I know what you're thinking... a parent WOULD put their own child before a dog, but what if a dog was the only thing that you had in the world? I know that it is sad to think that a person would have no family, but some people do. Now, if you put yourself in that person's position, then you would put the dog down, without even thinking of the logic. What if that dog were to be your child? Would you just give up on your child that soon and put them down? Think about it.

I'm leaving you with this, an animal thinks just like a human (except for some things), so treat them like one.

Yours truly,
GGbabe
