Canadian-American

Whyville Veteran

Hello Whyville! It's january. Lately, with all the patriotic holidays happening, I've noticed that a few Whyvillians have been involved in "heated" conversations about which country is the "best". Mainly I'm talking about Canada and the USA.

I really hate when I see these conversations. Not only do most of the things these people say are stretched or just wrong, but it bothers me to see kids from countries that are at peace fighting. I am half American and half Canadian and when I get asked my opinion in these conversations I get torn. I don't know what to say.

I know that there are probably many other people in my situation and would like these types of conversations to stop. Remember that Canada and the USA are not at war and even if they were, you should not be having these conversations. You can always celebrate the peace between Canada and the USA or even just the pride you have in your country. But don't go boasting about how much better your country is than another. That goes for all countries, too.

I'll see you all around Whyville sometime!
