Is Skumbag68 Right?

08
Whyville Veteran

Hey everyone. This is 08, and even though I DON'T want to admit it, I just have to.

Skumbag68 is right: people are greedy and so gullible. And no, Skumbag68 doesn't hack, hacking involves using software and that's not what he/she is using... all he/she simply does is convince Whyvillians to hand over their passwords. AND IT WORKS.

I'm not trying to encourage people to do it -- I'm trying to make everyone aware that you can't trust every single person on Whyville. Get to know a person first and foremost, and NEVER give out your password. I see articles saying NEVER to give out your password, and yet I see a lot of people doing it anyway. So basically, if you give out your password, you deserve to get your account stolen because you've been warned so many times.

Maybe getting your account taken will knock some sense into you people to not give out any personal information like addresses or passwords. And if you still insist on trying to get someone else to raise your salaries for you, remember that that's cheating, and trusting a complete stranger can lead to a bad ending for your account. If your friend raises it, well, let's just hope your friend doesn't go bad and turn on you the second you give out your password. It's happened a thousand times before, it'll happen a thousand times more.

Remember that you have been warned. Just because some Whyvillians get their accounts back doesn't mean you will. (Accounts that are saved probably have all the clams and body parts gone and missing.) What good can come of giving out your password? Get your salary raised? Seriously, its not HARD to raise your salary. Just spending an hour everyone can increase your salary by at least 5 clams a day if you're willing to spend time playing.

Think of all the consequences that can come from the situation where you give out your password, and compare it to just spending time to raise your salary. I don't really see why the city workers even try to give accounts back when some (not all) Whyvillians who have lost their accounts deserve it. Trying to get someone to raise your salary is dishonest, and so if your account gets stolen, you deserve it. Bad things happen to dishonest people.

Think twice before giving out your password and beware! I know this may sound harsh, but its the truth, and Skumbag68 has brought out that truth. I hope everyone realizes that people who steal accounts don't have much sympathy and the only thing you can trust is your parental email to be correct. As long as you didn't give out the password to that account... did you?

SO FOR THE LAST TIME, DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR PASSWORD! EVER!

Keep your accounts safe, everyone!
