Stand Up: For Yourself and To Yourself

I hadn't read Skumbag68's article until like two minutes ago. I now realize what people are fussing over about! This guy is crazy, a lunatic, I just don't know why someone would want to do this.

If Skumbag was such a bad person and Whyvillian, then why are we acting like we are afraid? Obviously this Skumbag dude was here a long time ago, and obviously we aren't over this problem. I look at it this way: Skumbag was a bad person, he wrote a horrible article, then after the article it was all Skumbag there and Skumbag here. To conclude my theory, I think Skumbag is just a person whom we can debate about -- we can tell people what he did wrong, what he should do to make people forgive him and so on and so on.

Skumbag is just a person who wanted attention and that's what we are giving, in fact, too much of it! He might or might not be in Whyville right now (who knows?). The only reason he kept going and going on with his mean actions is because every Times or Guest Writer here in Whyville kept writing and writing about him and giving him more of what he craves... ATTENTION!

I know Skumbag is probably far away from Whyville now, but like I said, he is just helping me make my point. And my point is that when someone is as nasty and mean as Skumbag (if you can really get that mean and nasty), you have to ignore them and just go on with life. I mean, what would life be if everyone was fighting about something allllll the time!? If you ignore them, they will come up with more and more ways to annoy you, but eventually they will go away. In Whyville it is so easy, because when someone is bothering you or doing bad and nasty things, you have the safety tools (mute and silence and vaporize), or you can just go to your bus menu and click on a different place to go!

So, if this is so easy, then why is bullying getting bigger and bigger in Whyville and in life? Stand up to bullies, not with fists but with pride! Walk away, leave them with the impression that you aren't going to mess with someone who is just making everyone else's lives difficult.

You have so many options, good and bad ones. But you have to pick the good ones because the bad ones will get you nowhere. Just to think of someone bullying another person (I don't mean saying bad words or anything, I mean picking on you) makes me sooo mad. That's why I wrote this article, to tell you how you can be bully proof.

Sometimes, I like that Skumbag was around, because he was "practice" for our bully-handling skills. Knowing what to do is one thing, but actually doing it is another. So take control! That's all I have to say...

Thank You!
