Slavery Needs Solution

by DanceBabe
Times Columnist

As you may already know, some of our Whyville members have posted notes within our bulletin boards encouraging slavery. What they do is get people to change their Whyville name and serve them.

The slave even gives the "ruler" clams on command! I personally think this is wrong. We went through centuries of painful and harmful slavery in the real world and now we are going to let it affect our safe, virtual one.

This is a major problem and many Whyville members will take this seriously -- even if it was meant to be a funny, little game.

Interviews:

HappyDap5

DanceBabe: Have you heard about Whyville citizens asking for slaves?
HappyDap5: Yea.
DanceBabe: What do you think of this?
HappyDap5: Dumb and lame.
DanceBabe: Why is it dumb and lame to you?
HappyDap5: Ummm... because it doesn't do much for you.

Ghosty65

DanceBabe: Have you heard of slavery in Whyville?
Ghosty65: Once.
DanceBabe: What do you think of it?
Ghosty65: All I heard was Alica wanted to sell hers.
DanceBabe: Do you think it is wrong to have slaves in Whyville?
Ghosty65: Yes.
DanceBabe: Why?
Ghosty65: Cause they are people too.
DanceBabe: Thank you.

Although these interviews were short, they proved other Whyvillians are realizing what the problem is coming to. We should take action now before this slavery issue becomes too large to control.
