Hey Whyvillians, Zoey100 back again.

I don't know if anyone has written about this because I've been gone awhile but I want to put my own experience into it also.

If you all haven't heard it in the news by now, the cigarette tax has increased. It was increased by 50 cents per pack. Now, I don't smoke, but my uncle I love a lot does. He has been trying to stop smoking for over 5 years now. He's tried all that stuff you see on TV and on-line; none of it has kept him off smoking for a very long time. I'm hoping that this tax will stop him from smoking. I mean, you hear of people dying of hunger because they smoke too much and run out of money, but that was years ago. Now people could run out a whole lot faster.

Also, my best friend told me one day that when she was standing in line to buy something, I think candy, the guy in front of her was buying cigarettes. And that man was talking to the cashier about how this tax is going make him stop smoking so much. When my friend told me that, I was so happy to hear it. Smoking can easily kill you and it has some really gross stuff in it. A couple of those things I remember from a school talk in fourth grade are rat poison and household cleaners. Pretty gross, huh?

Well, just thought I'd clue everyone in on this and tell you my stories.

Byes,
Zoey100
