When I'm Older, I Want To Be...

Giggler01
Times Writer

Hey! This is I, Giggler01, writing yet another article. (But you probably already figured that out). Today I want to tell you about something that just kind of hit me, but it's very important.

Everyone, at some point in their childhood, has wanted grow up and be important. "When I grow up, I want to be a..." Maybe you want to save lives, and be a doctor or a fire fighter, or be a famous athlete or performer. We will all grow up and be something, but it isn't always what we wanted.

I was looking around the Square tonight and a girl, I don't know her name, came in. She was in a bathtub, with a piece of yellow tape that said "no peekin". I had seen both of these things before, but seeing the two associated really offended me for some reason.

How many people want to grow and be (I am sorry for being frank, but this is important to me) prostitutes and strippers?

It is thought that in today's world it is wrong to treat women like objects. But that's exactly what this does. It makes these people "hot" only for their bodies, and I think that this is something that needs to change on Whyville.

It's not right in real life for us to do stuff like this in public, so why is it right on Whyville? There are little kids on this site, and it isn't exactly educational to dress this way. I think that people should think before they wear this stuff. What message are you sending?

I hope I didn't offend anyone by writing this article, but women are more than just bodies! Don't only look at models -- look at the women next door and in the malls. These are real people, and that is just something that is important.

Before I do offend anyone, this is Giggler01, signing off and going to bed.

Note from City Hall: I just want to let Giggler and everyone else know that we at City Hall take this kind of inappropriate behavior very seriously. Whyville is a town for kids to learn and play safely; stripping and prostitution have no place here. Frankly, it's disgusting that someone would bring that sort of activity into a town full of young teens and pre-teens. Folks, if you see someone acting out in this way, please 911 report them so we can try to educate them about what is and isn't okay. Thank you!
