City Hall Questions

Sonner
Times Writer

This is Sonner again and I was hoping that the Editor or the City Workers could answer some questions that other Whyvillians and me might like to know.

  1. When is the nutrition game coming out?

City Hall: This game has gotten delayed a few times. We're really sorry, but it has turned out to be a more complicated venture than we'd originally planned... add to that the fact that our programmers keep getting distracted with little tasks here and there around Whyville -- like the brand new store and the Halloween party. We just haven't made much progress recently, but we're keeping our fingers crossed for this holiday season.

  2. How can we get newbies to stop begging for clams?

City Hall: That's a fundamental question for most governments -- how do you get people enough money so they don't feel poor or neglected? Should there be charity or should everyone earn their own money?

In general, we encourage people to share *knowledge* instead of money, the old idea that it's better to teach someone how to fish than to just give him the fish. Do you agree? How else will your fellow citizens learn to take care of themselves, once you're not there? Send in your thoughts and perhaps the Times Editor will start a new section to discuss this in the paper!

  3. How come when you win the Solstice Safari you only get 11 out of 12?

City Hall: There are actually people who have earned 12 clams for the Solstice Safari. The first 11 clams are for the 11 stops. The last one you need to earn by answering the last bonus question really well!

  4. How do we make better face parts?

City Hall: Hmm... how do you define better? Something that Akbar will like more? Akbar likes clean parts, strong lines and definite artwork. Always check the smaller sizes of your parts -- make them look good too. Don't try to cram in too many details. And don't try to be too adult with your look. This is still a website for kids. Finally, don't forget, your face doesn't have to look like a real-life face, or like anything in real life at all! Think about that when you make parts...

Well, I have people Y-mailing and asking me these questions all the time. If you were wondering how to get more clams because I didn't put it up there, you can just simply get your salary higher by playing and trying new games, and maybe setting up a store at Akbar's or selling stuff you don't want anymore at the Trading Post.
