Does Kindness Beget Kindness?

It is very long article, but hopefully you will hear me out.

Human beings are very complicated people. It is a surprise to see how some people are willing to sacrifice their lives for other people, while others run away when needed. I hate to say this, but most people belong to the second category, me included. You say to yourself, "What?!? I'm not that kind of person! I will be willing to lay down my life for my friends and family!" But if you were in a building that was on fire, and just when you were reaching the entrance and running to safety, your friend calls out to you to save him/her... you look at the raging flames that you have just escaped from, and think about it! It will be very scary, and if you think twice, you and/or your friend might die instead. What would you choose?

Nowadays, if you are trying to be kind and help out, people get very suspicious. They will look at you suspiciously and decide that who knows, you might be a thief and con-man and whatever, and turn down your help. Kind people are rarely found. Have you ever heard of the phrase, 'once bitten, twice shy'? That is probably why there are fewer and fewer such people, because they have been turned down by YOU and decide never to offer help again.

Recently, my teacher wanted our class to do newspaper article presentations. I was (unfortunately) called up first. My article? It was about a woman who had helped out her neighbour because the neighbour was always getting kicked out of his own house as he demanded money from his family to pay off his gambling debts. However, the man 'repaid' his kind neighbour by stealing her money and valuables just after moving in for 10 days. What's more, the worth of goods and money stolen was more than one-tenth of a million dollars.

Does kindness begets kindness? You can answer that for yourself.

Did you ever realize, when a fight gets started, the principal always asks who started it. Person A will say that person B had picked a fight with him first, and of course B will say the same about A.

This year, in my country, an actress was hospitalized because there is something wrong with her liver. Later, she had a liver transplant and it was found out that she had taken slimming pills that contained a kind of banned substance. However, now that she is better, she's going around suing people, like the company which manufactured the pills, and worse of all, her colleague who introduced and sold her the pill! What has her colleague got to do with it, apart from just introducing and selling her the drugs? That was bad, but it was plainly her own fault that she had taken the stuff in the first place! And yet, she goes around blaming other people. Goodness....

I am just showing you the ugly side of human beings, which you all would already know. There are still lots more things to say.... Anyway, I hope that you will consider and think about what I've said.

Thanks for reading.
