Hiya folks. This is rob4466 here with a little opinion type article for you all. I haven't written for the Times or anything before, so bear with me, okies? This might be a bit overdone, but I'm going to include my very opinionated view.

Now, to the topic. If you have been keeping up with the articles regarding sexual orientation, you probably have a thought or ten about homosexuals, whether they be positive or negative. To be honest, I got somewhat angry at smileNOW's article about this being a choice. Like others have said, no one would CHOOSE this lifestyle, would they? Rather, you are chosen.

I myself personally did NOT choose to be gay. I tried to remain straight, actually, but... well, as you can see, that didn't work. You can't deny your feelings. So I'm wondering, why DO people judge us? I know this may sound like a redundant thought, but you WOULDN'T make fun of someone if they were African-American, Jewish, or any other ethnic background, would you? We're different... how? Oh yes, I just remembered, we don't conform to what society makes us believe is right. There are plenty of Anti-Racism campaigns everywhere. That's all well and good, and it's now to the point where it's REALLY not cool to be racist. It's comparable to making fun of a handicapped person. You just DON'T do it.

Do you get my point here? It's pretty much what the rest of these articles have been saying. We're not inhuman for being gay. We have feelings, too. If you cut us, we will bleed; if you hit us, it will hurt. Just because some branches of some religions see it as wrong, or some people haven't matured enough to stop seeing it as "icky" doesn't change that. I've endured so much abuse... I used to regret waking up each day. Do you LIKE making people feel like that? Well, you shouldn't.

Anyway that's enough 'angst' for one day.
