Sugar or Spice: Personal Choice

Heylo everyone!

Last week, my friend emailed me and asked me to help him by writing an article about something he feels is really important... So I've made the time and right now I should be at a sport practice, but ah, well. =o)

I dunno about you, but when I went around Whyville to get info for this article, it seemed everyone had a boy/girlfriend, OR they were looking. I kept getting whispered, "Hey Baby! u single?" I don't know what part of my virtual face they liked. Sure, I have 'gone out' with guys on Whyville, but it doesn't seem right. There's so much that's missing from them. You don't know what they look like for sure, and you can't see their eyes or body expression, either. You can't tell their reaction or if they're being sarcastic. And the biggest problem, he could indeed be some 79 year old!

I decided to start off my investigation and quickly discovered, to my surprise, that 3 out of 5 people had a relationship in real life and on the net. More than that, 2/3 of the people had not only one person but three or four, and they had strong feelings for ALL of them. They all admitted this does put stress on all the relationships they have going, especially the real life one.

Then I met someone; let's call her Ketchup999. She wanted to give her comments on the whole subject...

"I know this is wrong, and I know my relationship with my bf in real life is really suffering because of the one on the net. 'Cause when I go out with him my head isn't clear, I'm thinkin about my man on the net. It's not as if you can just, like, sweep them away or nething. But I thought it'd be sweet and I could seperate my feelings for the two pplz. So when i'm on yville i'm thinking about my internet bf and when i'm irl i'm thinking about the other... but now i kno you can't do that and i feel real bad cause i've stuffed things up with both of 'em."

It's true, it's really hard to just separate your feelings for two different people. What could start off as just a thing with a b/f on here could turn into something bigger. Think of it as, would you like your g/f or b/f to be with someone else? Do you think that'd be fair to you, him or her not having their head clear and instead filled with thoughts of this other virtual face??

Sure, love on the internet's heaps of fun, especially with all those cute lil' V-day cards you get posted on the door, and the kisses and hearts that get flung through the air too. My fave was the first ever prom, where there was a big thing over who you'd go with... my date and I had heaps of fun at that!! It's a personal choice and everyone's different -- just if keep in mind everything, and do whatever's right for you & the situation. =o)

I better be off now, or my netball coach'll make me run laps. =oS Don'tcha hate being in a squad?!

lots <3
