Is Whyville Like Reality?

Giggler01
Times Writer

There has been a question that has been bugging me a lot lately. Is Whyville like reality? That's where I started out. Well, of course it's not, because I mean, I have to wake up each morning and go to school, and when I get home, I have the lovely burden of homework, without a doubt. But there are a lot of reality issues in Whyville when you think about it.

What I mean is that when I sit down at my computer on days like today and I go to chat on Whyville, maybe write an article about my opinion on something, I am still stuck with being, well, me. I am still the same person sitting at my computer. But all of a sudden, I look different. All of a sudden I am talking to these people who know nothing of the "real" me, and therefore the "me" that I am in Whyville can be someone totally different.

However, the reality issues still happen in Whyville. We still need money to support a domain name. To have servers. To have people to run this site for us. And there is still discrimination. There are still varied opinions on everything.

So, in reality in whole, in portion, or not at all, there will always be people that do not agree with the decision made by someone. Someone will always have to contest with and oppose what others have to say.

Whether we like it or not, there is always a reality aspect to Whyville. One that the real world makes happen. The next time you go to say that this or that should happen on Whyville because it is not real life, think about how a decision like this could affect your real life.

This is a very real Giggler01 (Well, you know that's not my name in reality, but you get my drift, right?) and I am signing out.
