Dear Mr. Editor

Whyville Poet

This is a poem, in the form of a letter, written by a budding journalist of the Times who is depressed about not being published.

Dear Mr. Times Editor,

Where did I go wrong?
I've tried so hard to write for you, but I haven't been published in so long.

I've racked my brain for ideas, done research by the hour,
read every article in each edition, but now my thoughts are turning sour.

How many articles have I sent you? Why did you publish only a few?
The paper is filled with many topics, but I'd like to introduce some too.

Oh please Mr. Editor, listen to what I have to say.
I'm trying my very best to be a Times Writer some day.

Do you hold a grudge against me? I can't imagine why.
Thanks for listening to my troubles, I'm going to give writing another try.

Sincerely,

n2vball
