Do You Remember?

Guest Writer

Hi, it's LoVeLy18 here and there's something I have to say. Do you remember when you first started Whyville? and you had to sign that Policy Statement? How many of you read it? How many of you recognize this?

    Numedeon does not allow Submissions which contain:
    * private or personal information which might identify a user, e.g., full name, telephone number, or home address;
    * profanity or obscenities;
    * personal attacks on other individuals;
    * slanderous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, threatening and harassing comments;
    * bigoted, hateful or racially offensive statements;
    * vulgar, obscene, discourteous or indecent language or images;
    * advertisements or solicitations;
    * material or statements that do not generally pertain to the designated topic or theme of any chartroom or message board;
    * language that advocates illegal activity or physical harm or discusses illegal activities with the intent to commit them; and
    * information that Numedeon deems in its sole discretion to be inappropriate for this Site

How many of you do NOT understand this? We are not to be doing this, so... why are we still using language that creates physical and mental harm, why are we still giving out our personal information and, at the other end of the story, why are we still taking other people's personal info?

Do you remember when you were new to Whyville in 1999 and everyone was ugly and nice and nobody cared what you looked like and hardly ever was a warn or a silence used. Now we have people who are cursing and swearing and people with warns all over their faces... maybe I'm wrong to be saying this, but that's ridiculous!

How many of us are over 10 years old? More than half of the community, I bet, including myself! Now, am I dumb or are we acting like little immature two year olds? It's horrible, gruesome and stupid.

Let me ask you this: who controls your life? Not your mom, not your dad, YOU. That's right, none other than you! Crazy, huh? NO! And no matter how many of these articles the Times may publish, it never seems to get through most of your heads. We're not little immature 2 year olds, SO ACT LIKE IT.

Be how old you really are and don't say you're any older because if you were 15 and you said you were 18, people may believe you and expect you to be even more mature (one would hope!), and then what are you going to say... yeh? I mean, come on, people! Think! It's not too hard, okay?

I'm sorry if I have offended anyone, but this is my opinion of what we are acting like on Whyville.

3-2-1, see yah,
