New Year's Winners

Hey Everyone!

Well, I'm sure some of you are dying to know if you've won my New Year's contest, now that the contest is over. I didn't receive as many stories as I'd imagined... but enough to determine the winners.

Let's recall the prizes:

  • First Place -- 150 clams and 3 face parts of your choice (as long as it's in stock).
  • Second Place -- 100 clams and 2 face parts of your choice.
  • Third Place -- 50 clams and 1 face part of your choice.

In third place, we have Prissie33:

Well, let's see, what was my greatest moment in 2002 on here? That's a hard question, since there were so many!!! Let's start with one of my most memorable moments. I had quit Whyville for a few months in the summer because I was so busy. One day, I decided to come on and check my mail and so on. After fixing my face (because after that long a time, your face isn't exactly "in" any more), I went to the 'platz where I always hung out and found everyone one shouting my name! Even people I didn't know were saying my name. I felt so special because people actually remembered me... *tears up*... oh, the good old times. But really, all the times I shared on here are and were great. Just lying back in the 'platz and goofing off. All my friends helped to make the year 2002 a great one.

The second place winner is SgirlSDL:

My greatest moment in Whyville in the year 2002 was when I finally had the guts to write two articles for the Whyville Times. Since I had been a newbie, I had always wanted to write something for the Whyville Times, but I never had the right topic and I was scared of the thought of my article being rejected, not added to the Whyville Times.

I wrote a little review on The Eminem Show and the 8 Mile soundtrack. My second article was a day in the life of a vegetarian. I think it's very rare, seeing vegetarian teens. It took me about an hour to finally evaluate the two articles and admit to myself that they were good enough for me to click the send button... and off they were e-mailed to the Whyville Times.

Every day I would check the Whyville Times, checking if my articles had been admitted, but I'm sorry to say they haven't. I guess I've finally realized that they wouldn't be able to be put in the Times, but it's okay, because better writers have had their articles admitted. They deserve the spot.

So, to conclude this little story, I guess my greatest moment of Whyville in 2002 was when I submitted my two articles to be checked over by the editor, to see if they were adequate for the job of being read by thousands (or should I say millions?) of Whyvillians around the world.

    And in first place, HotHolly5:

Hello An0nymous, my name is HotHolly5. I am going to write you my favorite memory of 2002

Well, I would have to say my favorite memory of 2002 would be when I was kind of a newbie (*blushes*) on my old account hurley19. I was in the auditorium one day, hoping to win a b/c (beauty contest) and I saw 4 girls sitting in the right corner. I also looked to the left and saw 2 girls sitting in the corner. I sat in the middle with a couple of other girls who were there trying to win the b/c.

Finally, one of the girls from the right corner said, "Hey hurley19, come here a minute!" I was so excited!! I went over and sat beside the girl that called me over... I said nothing, afraid that they might not like me. Then the girl that called me over finally said, "Hey, I am britNem! What's your name?"

I grinned widely as I looked at my screen and typed slowly into my bubble that appeared on my screen: "Holly, my name's Holly," I said, not seeming to be able to pull my grin off my face. The girl said, "It's nice to meet you."

Then a girl on the bottom said, "Hi Holly!! I'm 00Gabi." Another girl piped up and said "I am KandyBarr." And finally the last one sitting there said, "I am kayla97."

This all happened in August 2002, and now it is January 2003. BritNem is one of my very best friends and I love her so much! KandyBarr and I were very good friends and we talked all the time, but lately she and I have drifted apart... I have no idea what happened. 00Gabi and I don't talk much because she doesn't come on a lot; kayla97 and I haven't talked much either. But in conclusion to this story, I am thanking those fine 4 girls who actually did help me out when I was a "newbie". For that, I definitely must thank every last one of those girls from the bottom of my heart, because I now have made many many many friends on Whyville, all because of those 4 girls.

Well, those are the winners. I hope a lot more of you participate next time. Look forward to more contests and articles!

    Yours Truly,
