Hello everyone! This is my first article, so please be kind and resist your urges to throw trash at me.

The idea of writing this article didn't just pop into my head one day. I've been reading the Times for quite a while, and was usually lured into the dating section. I've read many articles on how dangerous and unsafe and possibly pointless internet dating is. I completely agree. We all do. I know that each writer out there that has submitted an article about this commonly opposed topic was trying to make a point and convince everyone not to date online, but writing isn't going to get it into these people's heads!

I remember my first months on Whyville when I first discovered the Times. I read the articles, enjoyed them greatly, and even went through the Archives to search for more great topics and read about them. And then the articles about dating online started to come in. I read them for a while, and thought it was stupid at the time, because I was "into" dating. I remember laughing at the articles and just trying to convince myself that internet dating was cool, everyone was doing it, and that I loved the person for who they were.

Eventually, I finally realized how pointless internet dating is. Who here has never watched a romantic movie of a young girl or guy falling in love with someone and just going through all these crazily romantic things to be with them? Haven't you ever wished that person in the movie was you? Well, don't look for that kind of romance on Whyville. Dating a colorful graphic image takes away all that fantasized romance you've been craving and dreaming of.

My purpose to this article wasn't really to ramble on and on about my points of views. It was just to get it into people's heads that no matter how hard you writers conjure up convincing articles to have people realize that internet dating is pointless, some folks will just never get it. For them to understand it, they have to go through their own journey, enlightened by an epiphany....

Well, thanks to all of you who have spent their precious time reading my little article. Your minutes were well spent. ;-)
