I'm sure many of you have seen or heard about dating shows. The ones where there are twenty women and the man eventually narrows the group down to pick the girl he will marry. Although these shows are getting huge ratings, I am strongly against them.

Is that really real? How many men get twenty women living with them while they eliminate them to find the perfect girl. I'm sure lots of men wish that could happen, but it just won't. And it shouldn't. How rude is that, that the man decides everything?

And what about the girls? How real is it that twenty girls fall for the same guy? And they all cry when they have to leave the show. It seems that nineteen girls have broken hearts when the show is over.

These shows ruin the point of love. You can't expect to go on a television show and fall in love. They make it seem like the easiest thing, too. Guess what? The most popular of these shows is shot in three weeks! Three weeks to fall in love and get married. My parents said they weren't in love until about six months of dating, and they got married after dating for five years!

So, if you have to watch these shows, please, understand the reality of it: there is no reality.

Gotta fly,
Jill20
