Dear Workers and Citizens of Whyville,

A few days ago, I began a quest to find out what Whyville is really meant for. In the process, I interviewed three people to try to find out the answer:

Me: Can I interview you for a story I'm writing for the Times?
Arsenal16: Sure!!!
Me: What do you think Whyville is really meant for?
Arsenal16: For people to go somewhere on the internet and meet some people around the world and see what it's like....
Me: OK, thanks, bye!

Me: Can I interview you for a story that I'm writing for the Times?
Meow: Yea!!!
Me: What do you think Whyville is really meant for?
Meow: I think it's meant for making friends and boyfriends and chatting with other people and saying basically whatever you want.
Me: Thanks!!!

Me: Can I interview for a story I'm writing for the Times?
Piezano: Sure!
Me: What do you think Whyville is really meant for?
Piezano: I think I'ts just meant for meeting new people.
Me: OK, thanks, bye!!!!

Everyone had basically the same answer, meeting new people, but if you ask me, they're all missing the most important point of all -- the fact that your true identity on Whyville doesn't matter. It doesn't matter if you're the richest kid in the world, or have a fabulous or horrid personal appearance. None of it really matters. Or at least, it used to not. Sadly, that's no longer true: newbies are getting made fun of, everyone's becoming obsessed with clothes, and people are getting clam greedy. Can we change sum of our actions before Whyville completely loses its meaning?

Signing off and going to bed,

Moonshell
