Ballad of the Little Mouse
In my old cellar lived a tiny mouse,
he had a warm basket and made it his house.
He went upstairs for some food bits,
my mom saw him and was scared out of her wits.
I picked him up and gave him a name,
to my surprise he was pretty tame.
I called him Charcoal and gave him some cheese.
When he was done he gave me a look as if to say,
One day I went to see my mouse,
but there was a surprise in his house,
for in there was him, a female, and two baby mice,
so now when I bring down cheese I make sure
there's an extra slice.
