Hey... kalia25 here, with some very worrisome thoughts
running through my mind. I recently started to go to the auditorium, where many
shows and things like that are held. I noticed that B/C's (beauty contests) were
the main events that are held there. So I decided to join a B/C, and I really
enjoyed being in it... to a certain point.
While I was in the B/C, I realized all the rude comments going around the room
to any people that got a place! Some people would be like "OMG, she is sooo
ugly!" Then they would be like, "Ewww, she's a newbie!" You know, the usual rude
comments. This made me quite concerned that people were getting put down
like that just because of a stupid little B/C.
Then, when I got 2nd place in a contest, people said the same
things, even when it's obvious that I'm not a newbie! All I would say back is,
"It's just a B/C, don't be so incredibly immature and don't take it so
seriously!" Then of course, a big argument would start.
I realized that these B/C's aren't that fun for some people; actually, they're
quite rude sometimes. I was appalled when I saw what people were saying to those
that won. It must have made them feel very bad. People were getting judged on
how they looked when they got chosen and even if the people that got 1st, 2nd,
3rd, 4th, etc were absolutely gorgeous, they would still get picked on.
Why do people have to hold a grudge against the people that
win something? Why can't they just be happy for the people and make them feel
good about themselves, or at least if they can't do that, why can't they just
pretend? It's not fair to the people that get all those rude comments.
They should get nice comments and have people congratulating them, but instead,
the people tend to act rude to everyone.
Another thing I noticed about B/C's is, if there are newbies in the contest,
which there usually are, they'll usually get last place, even if they're
prettier than the people that aren't newbies. I don't think that's fair. Newbies
are just as good as the rest of us! Why should they get last place if they're
prettier than some of the other people that aren't newbies (oldbies or
middlebes)? It's like they are being cut out of everything just because they are
newbies, and they don't deserve to be treated like that. They deserve to be
equal in a B/C just like the rest of us!
My very last concern about the B/C's is that the judges get made fun of because
of their opinions sometimes. They don't deserve that! They are nice enough
to be judging a B/C for us, why treat them like that? If the judges pick a
pretty newbie 1st before an oldbie, then the judges will get called a newbie,
even if it's obvious they're not, and they'll also get called ugly and
everything! Even if someone in the B/C doesn't get picked the judge will once
again get put down because of their opinion!
It makes me mad the way people get treated in B/C's. It's just not fair to
anyone!
