In response to the "Dare to Download" article, I see where the Editor makes a good point. It is wrong to steal something that isn't yours. These artists have a talent and they are sharing it with the world. That money should be theirs.

But... the fact is, most of these artists have enough money anyways and it's more the record companies who are complaining, because they are the ones losing the most money. But I don't see this being a major issue in the future. First of all, it is true some people buy fewer CDs today, but others continue to purchase the discs, despite the easy access programs. Sometimes it just isn't the same with out the real CD.

Secondly, I believe some companies are figuring out ways to make CD's that can't be transferred or shared on the computer.

And, these downloading programs aren't all bad. Many new artists can get started with the help of these providers; they can spread their music around the world with the help of downloading software.

All in all, I know I will continue to download from these programs, until serious actions are taken against them.

Editor's Note: Just what is "enough" money? I'm sorry, if you drew a beautiful painting, I'm sure you'd want to be paid for every copy ever made. It might not happen, but that doesn't change the fact that you'd want it! Heck, even if you didn't want to keep the money, once you get "that rich", the more you have, the more good you can do with it. Isn't that true?
