Hi people! This is Angel7990, really hoping this gets published and hoping I become a Times Wrtier. If I don't with this article, I'll just write a better one in the future. Anyway, here's why I'm writing this today.

Have you ever considered writing for the Times?? Well, I think you should! It is a great way to make Whyville a better place by posting concerns, or by putting a little of yourself into the Times for everyone to enjoy while chilling in the lounge. Don't know how to write an article? Then keep reading.

The first thing you got to do is pick a topic. (Obviously!) The key is to find a good one. The big way to get published is to write articles about science or current events (although I haven't done that yet!). Or maybe other people in Whyville are doing something you're against. Then all you have to do is get background information and there's your article. Maybe you want to write about something in real life. (There's more to the world than just Whyville!) Don't want to be so serious? Make up a quiz for other people to do. For some reason, some people just like reading those. (I know I do!)

Second, avoid the chat lingo. This is an article, not a chat room. Try to use the language you learn in Language Arts or English class. Also, spell checking and revising doesn't hurt, either.  The Times Editor has been known to throw out great articles that just had too many spelling and grammar errors.

Third, not a real good article writer? You could write stories or poems. Those are important too. Hey, they've got their own section of the Times!

Fourth, can't write at all? You can still give something to the Times. How? Take or draw pictures! Visuals are always fun to look at. If you don't know how to take pictures, go to "Search" on the Times front page and look for an article entitled "Dear City Hall". That should answer your questions.

Fifth, don't get discouraged if your article doesn't make it into the Times. Just keep writing and try to improve what you submit. Eventually, you might make the front page. (It's a cool feeling.)

So write for the Times. Show Whyville what you've got, and have fun doing it!

This is Angel7990, going *poof*.
