Hello! Shmee here! It's been a while, but I'm here to tell you a little story of mine. As many of you know, I make face parts and I have 4 stores (Garfuncle's, Garfuncle Hairs, Serindipity, and The Wedding Boutique). So I restock often.

Well, like any day, I waltzed right in to the Face Factory to restock my parts. and I started restocking 20 of everything. Anyhoo, sometimes I just let my eyes wander while pressing my 2's and my 0's and I came across something unusual. Under "cost per part", instead of the usual 2 clams, some said 5, and 10, and even 20!!! 20 clams to restock one part!!! And since I restock 20 of each, that it costing me up to 400 clams to restock each of those parts... hmmm, I wondered, maybe it's a typo?

So I clicked on my satchel and opened my ledger. Took out my calculator and calculated the amount of clams I had spent. The total was astonishing!!! I had spent over 18,000 clams in like 10 minutes!!!

And another discovery... I went to make another part, and found something interesting. At the top it said, "No refunds for workshop time! If you don't complete your part or Akbar doesn't approve your part design, Akbar will NOT refund the clams you spent." Meaning... that if you leave while making a face part, or if he doesn't except it, Akbar will no longer refund your clams. Though, he used to!

I don't know what is happening, but I am not too happy.

This is shmee signing off!
Till next time!

Editor's Note: It may come as a shock to some citizens, but many folks realize that they've been getting a special discounted price from Akbar on restocking prices all this time. If you read the details when you create a part, it says that restocking fees will be 2 clams for the smallest size, 5 clams for the next, then 10 and 20 clams for the largest sizes. For the past year or two, it's only cost you two clams to restock ANY face part! This is how many designers have been able to make incredible profits -- but Akbar's been steadily losing clam-money all this time!  I think it's pretty nice that he's held off on complaining about it until recently. ;-)

As for the workshop time refunds, you'll have to ask City Hall about that.  I think it's being done to speed up the site, and to encourage you to make sure you understand Akbar's requirements before submitting parts.
