"I'm an entertainer when I'm on stage, and they need to explain that to their kids. That's not my job to do that."
    -Britney Spears

I was just thinking about who I looked up to as a child, and thought about the girl who was my role model until I was around twelve. Then I felt sad when I thought about something she said, about her not wanting to be a influence on girls like me. That is what my article is about; being a role model when you may not want to be.

It saddens me that people like Britney think that they can just step on a stage and suddenly shed their influence on other girls. It would be like me suddenly saying to my niece, "Don't look up to me right now," when I am watching The Osbournes. I cannot do that. I know that people look up to me, and that is something I can't reverse. That is a main reason that I don't date on Whyville, because I want to show newbies that there is more to Whyville than getting a virtual boyfriend/girlfriend.

She doesn't understand that even if parents talk to their kids about her "Entertaining Job", kids may not understand. It makes them feel unwanted as a fan, a friend, a relative. It is similar me saying, "I'm a dancer when I'm in my pointe shoes, and my sister needs to explain that to her kids. That's not my job to do that." Sorry Britney, nobody has a role-model on/off switch.

I hope that I have showed you about what it is like to be a role-model. Even if you think that you are not a role model, you just might be. Well, since I am a "Role" model, I got to "Roll"!
