Hey everyone! This is naeZ21 here, talking about what's up with this new face parts to newbies idea.

Believe it or not, not that long ago we were newbies. Remember being a newbie? Coming on the site not knowing a single thing on how to make clams (many of us didn't even know what they were), or how to build a home, get face parts and things like that. But we couldn't ask anyone for help either, because we couldn't chat to anyone for those first 5 days.

But then we got the hang of it. We would start making a salary, it wasn't that big, but it was a salary. Then you could finally chat and ask for help! You tried to ask for help but a lot of the midbies and oldbies were pretty mean and cruel to you, threw projectiles at you and made fun about how you looked. Remember that? And remember when you went to Grandma's trying to get some new face parts but all the midbies and oldbies had gone in and taken them all so you're left with nothing so you had to go to Akbar's to get everything, but the thing you wanted was so expensive for your small salary that you had to come on everyday to earn enough clams to get it? I remember that. It was so hard being a newbie... but that might all change....

Now newbies will be getting our old face parts that will be deleted after about 3 months (not the face parts you had from along time ago). Those face parts will be going to Grandma's to help the newbies. (See Editor's Note.) That's nice and all, but we have earned our face parts over a long period of time and a lot of hard work and through the discrimination of being a newbie. And now the newbies will be looking great!? In our stuff!?

I made up a new Whyvillian called TestNewb to test this out.

After I joined Whyville as TestNewb, I went directly to Grandma's to see how many face parts I could get. I went in and Grandma said the same usual things so I went in to get some face parts. I came out with about 5 or 6 face parts! I was shocked! That never happened to me when I was trying to get face parts as a newbie! Then I went back in to see if I could get anymore and I got 2 more. How surprised I was!

Many people have petitioned on this because they thought it was horrid, many people have threatened to become taters or even worse, quit Whyville! But really there is no sense in quitting Whyville for such a small cause. This action I'm going to suggest may be for the better... I think it will help Akbar and the storage problem, and let new styles of face parts be sold there. It's not going to be that bad!

In the petitions, I saw some great ideas to ease this problem for everyone. Some said that unused accounts should be deleted after a certain period of time to clear up some space. Some said to get rid of furniture and bricks because more people are interested in face parts anyway. Some people have said to delete unsellable items. There are many good ideas that City Hall might be able to consider.

This is naeZ21 signing off, I hope this article cleared a few things up!

Editor's Note: This article is not accurate. Newbies will not be getting the parts that are deleted!  Your TestNewb account got parts because other, generous citizens chose to donate their parts.  Face parts that expire will be removed from the database, and the space that is cleared up will be "recycled" into other things for Whyville -- from more space for games, faster access to the site, to, yes, new face parts.  But no, City Hall is not taking your parts and giving them directly to Grandma, not unless you kindly donate them yourselves.

Also, old, unused accounts *are* deleted -- at least, the parts that make them take up a real amount of space on the servers.  We're considering your suggestions about houses/bricks.  And "unsellables" ARE NOT UNSELLABLE.  They're regular face parts that the designers have bought up for themselves, in order to control who gets to own them.  City Hall has no more control over those than over any other face part.

By the way, I think the whole "tater" concept is very cool, if you use it to spread the idea that how you look is not what's important: It's who you are and how you act, how you handle both good people and bad.  How do *you* handle them?
