Is great really the word for it? I don't think so.

If you haven't heard the recent news about Akbar taking face parts, than you must not come to Whyville much. The latest outrage against Whyville's citizens has many of us starting petitions to stop it. For a while, there was talk of Why-Passes that stopped the parts from disappearing in 90 days, but it caused controversy, and appears to not be an option for us anymore.  Here's why:

One of the first arguments about the Pass was how long would the pass (that you spend your REAL money on!) would last. It only lasts a month, or six months, or a year, depending on how much you spend.

Next was the concern was, what exactly would this Why-Pass do? It would only stop the parts from expiring for the amount of time that the Why-Pass was good. Then the parts would pick up where they left off. (Example: if you buy the Why-Pass when the item was 40 days from expiring, then when the Why-Pass expired, you would have those same 40 days till it expires.  The Why-Pass would buy you 30 days, or 180 days, or 356 days, but that's it.)

Finally, the last concern was not brought up by the media but by my own thoughts. What if you didn't have a check book or credit card? Cash is not accepted and your parents will not pay with checks. Then how will you keep our parts?

Well, since all this was brought up, Whyville put the Why-Pass idea to reconstruction and thought. although there is not much we can do to stop this we can rise up against it. Rally for our beliefs! Try having no face parts at all in protest against Akbar. Remember, one cannot do it alone but together, we can succeed.

Editor's Note:  We encourage you not to send cash through the mail because it's not safe -- somebody might steal the envelope -- but it *is* allowed.  A better idea, though, is to buy a mail order from the post office -- it's very cheap and you can get your money back if it's lost in the mail!
