I am Phatangel. Recently I have talked to different newbies, or newcomers to Whyville. What I found out was very interesting.
Instead of doing different interviews with all the people I talked to, I combined newbies Abbydog, Azura7, Lizlizzi, Jojomufin and Mamamia into a new Whyvillian who I have made up a story about:
Muffy000.
When you read this story, try to remember what it was like when you
were a newbie...
Muffy000 had just registered on Whyville. Nervously she clicked on "Pick Your
Nose", and started to design her face. To her horror, all the parts were ugly.
She eventually picked out brown wavy hair that stuck out, girly eyes that made
her look drugged, a huge nose, and a pink mouth that looked like a beak.
To make matters worse, her hair didn't even fit her face shape, which was lumpy with weird points sticking out. She clicked "Done", and went to Whyville Square.
There she saw a girl with long blonde hair, green eyes, a perfect nose, and glossy lips. She even had a blue dress on with a matching bandanna in her hair.
"Wow," thought Muffy000 as she looked at the girl. She decided to talk to her, figuring that a girl that pretty had to be nice.
"Hi," she typed nervously. "I'm Muffy000. I'm new.
How do you get a face like that?" To her surprise, the girl moved away, and
talked to a different person, a cute guy with a goatee and spikey blond
hair.
Muffy000 watched them flirt for a while. Soon the two were going out,
a happy couple. Muffy000 sighed and went over to a guy who had just typed, "Will anyone go out with me?"
She was excited, and typed in big letters, "I WILL!!!" The guy, who
wasn't even cute, typed in, "No, not you." He went over to a girl with long,
dark brown hair and said, "How about you?"
Muffy000 was crushed. She decided to stop watching other people talk happily, and went exploring. She clicked on the building that was shaped like a top, and went inside. She clicked on the button for instructions, and found out what to do. But when she tried the game, the best she could
get was a bronze medal.
Her salary was up, but only by three clams. Muffy000 was frustrated and wanted to do something fun, so she went to the pool.
There was a wedding going on, and everyone asked her to leave. By now,
Muffy000 was mad, and so she tried to hide in a corner. Everybody ended up
leaving and going somewhere else, leaving Muffy000 alone in the pool.
She yawned with boredom and logged off. She wouldn't go back on until a week had passed, but that's another story.
