As I was checking out Whyville one day, I noticed that people were talking about how horrible their lives were and how they were thinking of maybe even committing suicide. They even talked about doing drugs and cutting themselves to make the pain go away. It was sad and it really just woke me up.

I have been through depression myself... it was never fun. Little things upset me, and I thought every single person hated me. I didn't want to socialize that much either and I was always, always crying (about nothing sometimes). I even thought about suicide myself. Luckily, I never went to that extreme.

As I was going through these rough times, my mom took notice and took action, and thank goodness she did. She scheduled a therapist appointment to try and solve this problem. Turns out I was suffering from depression and it was treatable. He prescribed medicine for me to take so I can start living my life again. Ever since then, I have never looked back.

If you feel that you are suffering from depression, please talk to someone you trust. I know I sound like a Public Service Ad, but it is very true! Please, don't let this ruin your life. It could drag on, your relationships could suffer and your confidence may just keep dropping....

Just trust me on this one, OK?
