Hey all, puppyL here. Just a poem that came to mind while my dad says we have to go somewhere on Christmas Day. I hope you all know what I mean and understand how I feel.

Christmas

It's almost Christmas,
But it doesn't feel right.
Where's the mistletoe and holly,
Or the lights that shine so bright?

The Christmas tree is up,
But it's not a real tree.
It's made from plastic
and doesn't cheer up me.

Dad says, "The lights don't matter,
It's what's inside that counts."
But that's not how it is,
A REAL Christmas makes me bounce.

Mom says, "Change your attitude,
And you'll see things a different way."
But that just makes me think
And thinking makes me say...

"Where's the fun and where's the joy
That used to warm my heart?
I know you had it too,
It was there from the start.

Where's the ornaments on the tree,
and strings of lights that go for miles
Christmas is where people laugh
And there are REAL smiles.

This Christmas, though still Christmas,
It's not the same and makes me frown.
I know if I felt that feeling again,
My frown would be upside-down.

Don't you know what I mean?
Don't you know how I feel?
Christmas is one time a year
When EVERYTHING is real.
