OK -- we can breathe now. Friday, January 9th, the Department Of National Homeland Security of the United States announced that they were lowering the national terror threat alert level from high (orange) to elevated (yellow).

The Department of Homeland Security raised the threat level before the holidays from yellow to orange, warning that al-Qaeda, or possibly other terrorists, might use international flights to launch attacks United States on or around the holidays.

You can breathe more easily now, but be aware that Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge did say: "Let me emphasize that, although we've returned to yellow, we have not let our guard down," he said. "Yellow still means that we are at an elevated risk of attack."
