Introduction: I don't know about everyone who is reading this right now, but sometimes we don't realize how much of a privilege it is to be able to read and chose what books we want to read. Below is a poem I wrote myself about how I feel about books, how you can trap yourself in one, and how it enriches our souls. So now I would like to share with you my poem titled:

Ode to Books
by sunburst2

Oh, how wonderful you are,
You enrich our minds
With love, peace and joy.

Filling our hearts with feelings,
Like the sun shining up above in the heavenly skies.

You reflect new faces and old faces,
Sometimes even surprises.

Many different colors gleaming in our eyes,
Like a big bright rainbow soaring up high.

You smell of hands from being touched,
You're filled with dust from memories to pass on.
No matter how many times touched,
Still you feel of a new born child.

Once I open your binding cover,
I become one with the story,
And become part of your world,
Where you bring me to places I could never image.

Oh, my books, how I care for you,
Like you're part of my family.

We shall never grow apart,
I shall never leave you aside or behind,
Till the day I die.
