Recently, two 11-year-old girls made up a lie about being attacked by an innocent man. One girl had a boyfriend, despite what her father wanted, and she was about half-hour late getting home, so of course she needed an excuse. She called a friend and they made up a crazy story about being attacked.

The two girls got together, rolled around in the grass to look dirty, and went into some thorn bushes to get scratches and cut themselves with thorns. Then they went home and told their parents of the 'attack' and their parents, of course, called the police. These girls kept the lie going for eight months! Luckily, the guy they had accused was a forgiving man.

Okay Whyville, I've got a little quiz for you! Let's say you are out at a party and when you decide to leave its about 12:30 a.m. Your parents said to be home by 11:30 p.m. What are you going to do?

    a) lie
    b) sneak in and hope they aren't awake
    c) tell the truth

If you chose A, then you better check yourself. You did something wrong and now you're going to lie about doing it?! That is not the best thing for you. This lie is going to eat you up inside. If you do lie, A LOT, then it would be best if you fix it.

Let's say you ate the ENTIRE ice cream carton. You couldn't help it! You were depressed. But, you know you shouldn't have done it, so you gotta tell the truth. Just apologize and DO NOT promise you will never do it again, because you might... LoL. Just say you will TRY your hardest to not do it.

If you choose B, you probably have slim-to-none chances of sneaking in. Well, you may be really good at sneaking in, but one of these days you will get caught, and you probably should be. Just try to listen to the curfew and follow it carefully. Plan your time ahead. If it takes 15 minutes to get home and your curfew is 12:00 a.m., then you would want to leave at about 11:40 p.m. or even a little earlier. This way, you will gain your parents' trust and may even get a later curfew!

If you choose C, then good for you! You understand that you did something wrong and you needed to make it right.

Lying is not good, OK? You might not be very happy with yourself when you do it. I bet those girls aren't too happy with themselves. I hope you all work on this problem if you have it. Thanx bunches!!!
