Why not pretend
that it's all as it was,
an easy dream that never breaks.
Why not pretend
things move without flaws,
there are no rivers, only lakes.
Better it was,
a world made of plastic,
smooth and almost real.
Better it was,
you needed no tactic,
no new pains or uncertainties to feel.
It's not your fault,
nothing stays perfect for long,
you not alone were the fool.
It's not your fault,
but the dream is all gone,
beauty must fade as a rule.
It will be okay,
you'll see the sunrise one morning,
and realize life's not in vain.
It will be okay,
watch the birds as they're soaring,
at least one thing in life is the same.
